I once heard a rumor that there's 2 Mazda Cosmo Sport in Indonesia. I found it yesterday, and it looked like this. Is it even worth to save it?
The owner said, it's used to have the rotary engine with all options ticked including Air Conditioning and Radio. He even jokes that back then, the AC blows reaaally hard and cold that it feels like you're sitting inside a freezer. But because the Rotary engine was notoriously unreliable according to him, he replaced the rotary engine with the venerable 1.5l engine from Toyota Corolla. But since the great asian crisis his company gone bankrupt, and he sells all his collections. Nearly all, since he still got the Cosmo and that red American car that he said is a Chevrolet Biscayne.
I really want to buy it as my birthday present. I really do. I'll post it here when i really buy that thing.

Definitely worth saving. But that wont be an easy project. If I remember correctly Cosmo has a lot of parts that were only used in Cosmo. I do believe that even the suspension is completely unique to Cosmo.

DO. IT. RIGHT. NOW.

It does. The red car is bust, but the white car is miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight be plausible.
But i doubt it, there's a huge dent in the roof..

I have a 12A with transmission sitting around waiting on the right thing to go in.

You get the red car, i'll take the white :p

Both still look pretty rust free. Dent would pretty easy to fix.

yeah, the rust still minimum, because it's garaged the whole time..
If the price is right (less than 8k USD) i think i'll buy it.
I mean, my friend paid 8k USD for a similar condition Skyline GT-R KPGC110. I think it's should worth a bit less than that.

The dent in the roof is not a huge worry. Looks like the structure is intact. Should be reasonably easy to push out and bondo over (the roof being small makes it even easier). Looking at the body, the glass and the brightworks seems to be all there, which is very important - it can be an absolute nightmare to find.
Can't imagine that the correct oily bits would be easy (or maybe even possible) to find though.

Sounds interesting. Keep us updated how this advances.
Wut! $8k for KPGC110? Those are really rare and valuable. If I remember correctly only 197 were made. I think that it should 2nd or 3rd most expensive Japanese production car.

Yeah, the oily bits. That's my biggest worry.
Even Jay Leno is forced to swap a 12A into his cosmo because he can't find the 10A motor. A freaking Jay Leno!
I guess i'll stay with 12A like Leno.

And seriously, don't buy it unless you have an engine lined up and ready for purchase. Buying a project car with the mindset that you'll worry about finding parts later is a path straight to endless project car hell.

I can work with that.

No i don't.
Seriously, my heart is killing my wallet..
![]() 04/12/2015 at 19:36 |

buy it. I can guarantee that you won't find another one in your life.

Yeah, but it was in the similar conditions like the Cosmo, only the dent in the roof was replaced by the big dent on driver side's door.
When the car finishes i'll ask my friend some photos and put them here, sort of like a "build thread."
![]() 04/13/2015 at 17:41 |

Please do so. It's quite hard to find build threads from those.
C110 was actually sold in Finland too. But they weren't neither Nissans or Skylines here. They were sold as Datsun 240K-GT. They had L-series 2.4l as the model hinting. There isn't many left and all that have survived seem to coupes.
And all of them seem to suffer from identity crisis and carry Skyline badges. This one seems to have the original rear window that says "Datsun lasts". This did.

How did you find out about this car?

I met an BMW Salesman in here, his name was Yosef Goro, and he told me that he own this car. Here's his linkedin:

If he ask how i got his name, just ask him about his classmate in High School that owns a brown Ford Sierra. That guy who introduce me to him.

I'm not gonna contact him. I just find it highly suspect that 90% of your posts come from non-english blogs or websites.
You do know that when you steal someone else's images it's very easy to find out via Google Image Search? Also, passing off someone else's work as your own is plagiarism. Don't be a plagiarist.
